Poem: That Ladder Of Success

Share this article:

As an adult, of any age, how young are you?
By that I mean, how closely do you think things through?
Like, on the ladder of success, which you have tried,
What rung did you achieve, completely satisfied?
That is my point. At what point do you know success?
If you are in the right place at the right time, guess?
But, otherwise, you take what you are given, right?
For, after all, some rungs are simply out of sight.
How do you know—how could you know—not having tried?
That ladder’s rungs are status symbols, not a guide.
To get there takes an effort, needlessly to ask;
It all comes down to being equal to the task!
So, once again, how young are you in how you think?
And all these questions should not even make you blink.
Just going through the motions does not cut it here;
The rung above where you are now is naught to fear!
