The Death Of Good Service

Share this article:

We need to make a service call, so then, of course, we call;
But we get someone who cannot speak English much at all.
We try to make “it” understand that we don’t understand;
But seemingly there’s no attempt to bridge the language spanned.
So what has happened to “good service,” and that needed lift?
It seems, today, the main intent is to supply a rift.
Not all that many years ago, each emigrant would hear
Speak English if you stayed, and that was made quite clear.
So, here today they hire these foreign tongues to take our calls,
But where, in all of this, do we see where “good service” falls?
For when it comes to language, political correctness fails;
Both sides must understand each other, precipitating sales.
So corporate heads who think their bonuses spell out success,
They well may find without good service their futures will be less.
