Poem: The Truth of The Matter

No matter how advanced we think we are;
No matter what, or when, or even just how far,
What we conceive as forging on ahead
May justly be the opposite instead.
Just look at all the ages lived before,
And each and every one is stained by war.
Summations of all this will judge one course:
In order to advance, we must use force.
There is no argument to this, at best—
Just reading history will so attest.
But every human has a spiritual side,
Embedded in his psyche deep inside.
Imagine what we would be like if this’
Had been so strong our movements could not miss.
We talk about religion quite a lot,
But, in the end, do we achieve what’s sought?
It does not seem so, as is evident;
What’s yours is mine if I should want it, bent.
You will dismiss this discourse in a blink,
Unless, of course, it somehow lets you think!
