Tickets remain for Aurora Lions Club baseball trip

Aurora Lions Club will sponsor a bus trip to the Chicago White Sox vs. Milwaukee Brewers baseball game June 2 in Milwaukee.

The public is invited. Included will be transportation, game admission, and potluck tailgate party.

The outing is a “Kids Need Glasses” fundraiser by Aurora Lions Club. The event will benefit Aurora Lions’ free eye exams and eyeglasses for needy students in our school districts

A coach bus will depart door 15 at East Aurora High School at 8:30 a.m. Pop and water will be provided at the tailgate. Tickets are $98 per person. Deadline to register is May 15. Lion Dick Schindel, trip coordinator, said “We will tailgate before the game. Each family or group is asked to bring a favorite dish to pass. Water and pop will be provided. Those attending usually like to bring a lawn chair to relax before the game.

On the bus, there will be several pools that participants may play along with a chance to wager on the famous sausage races that are run at each Brewers game. There will be a cash raffle where half the proceeds are donated back to the Lions Club.

“The day is designed for a fun family-outing, while enjoying a Major League Baseball game,” Schindel said.

A Sunday, June 30, road trip to the Cubs vs. Milwaukee Brewers game is sold out. The “Strike Out Hunger” event is a fundraiser for Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry in Aurora.
