To Live Before You Die

I’ve wondered what percentage of the human race
From childhood goes on to achieve all they can be?
As stature, strength, agility all have a place,
Desire, coordination, opportunity
Must also be there, plus innate encouragement.
For few of us will end up totally below
A living standard arguably not sensed or meant
To be…despite not being what you wanted though.
All the above necessities have varied grades
And any one deemed insufficient for the need
Could then derail the venture as it slowly fades.
Adversities, on which all disappointments feed
Are well-placed road blocks, which may well help to decide
A totally different direction be pursued;
But one where sheer accomplishment engenders pride;
Whatever else, life is not meant to mope and brood!
