The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley will hold its March membership meeting Thursday, March 9, at the historic Gray’s Mill Estate, 211 N. River Street, Montgomery.
Meetings are held in the Third Floor Banquet Room. Dinner is on members’ own from the menu at 5:30 p.m. and meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m.. Guests are always welcome!
Guest speaker will be Paul Webster, father of seven-year-old Type 1 diabetic twins, Jackson and Elliot Webster. The Webster family resides in Aurora.
Bernadine Holland, MSN, MBA, RN, CDCES from UChicago Medicine-Kovler Diabetes Center, will be in attendance to learn more about the Webster twins. Holland is a registered nurse and certified diabetes care and education specialist. She welcomes daily opportunities to empower patients, by assisting them in building skills to manage their diabetes confidently, consistently, and serenely.
Members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley are raising funds to assist the twins in obtaining their first Diabetic Alert Dog (DAD), to help prevent emergency room visits and overnight hospital stays.
Interested observers should consider making a donation to the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley to aid the Webster twins in obtaining a Diabetic Alert Dog (DAD). The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
