State representative Keith Wheeler, R-Oswego, was a partner with other State and federal legislators along with VNA Aurora and East Aurora High School to provide 750 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to residents Monday, March 29.
“I am glad to be among our State and federal legislators who worked together on this event to make COVID-19 vaccines available to residents of our community,” said Wheeler. “Today’s event was just one step in accelerating vaccine distribution throughout Aurora and our overall efforts to keep families safe and bring us closer to ending the pandemic.”
Wheeler was joined by State representatives Barbara Hernandez and Stephanie Kifowit, State senators Linda Holmes and Karina Villa, and U.S. congressman Bill Foster. The event started with a press briefing at 8:30 a.m. in the East Aurora High School gymnasium. VNA Aurora administered the first dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to individuals. The second dose of the vaccine for those inoculated today will be administered April 28.
Wheeler serves the 50th District, which includes portions of Aurora, North Aurora, Batavia, Geneva, Campton Hills, Elburn, Montgomery, Oswego, Plano, St. Charles, Sugar Grove, and Yorkville.
