Look to this day, for it is meant for you!
Oh yes, it’s Veterans Day, that’s also true.
But understanding should come with this day,
Evaluating why this homage pay.
The veterans, who here have gone before,
With victory in each successive war,
We owe a gratitude beyond our ken,
Which we, today, try to express again.
Without these veterans, their succinct deeds,
We may not have the freedom freedom needs.
So here today, yourself, look deep inside,
Give praise to every veteran with pride.
And let them know from where these plaudits stem
For our world would be different but for them!
