Hundreds of water lanterns float downstream on the Fox River from Aurora’s RiverEdge Park at a Water Lantern Festival Saturday, Sept. 18. The five-hour event brought together individuals from all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life, to join in one emotional and memorable night on the banks of the Fox River. With the setting sun the Water Lantern Festival begins to shine at the launch of the lanterns. Organizers offer unique and homemade lanterns to drift on the water with a sense of hope, love, happiness, healing, peace, and a true connection.
