Waubonsee Community College’s competitive co-ed cheerleading squad secured a bid to the Chicago Nationals Grand Finale competition April 29-30 at Elgin Community College after taking first place in the Intermediate College Division at Xtreme Spirit’s Holiday Classic at the College of Lake County.
The squad’s first-place, high-energy, two-and-a-half-minute routine was assessed no deductions and tallied a score of 95.7 from the judges. Waubonsee’s Cheer team, coached by Gina Damato and Brie Vincent, is captained by sophomores Sami Damato and Kaylee Hill.
