West Aurora High School’s 35th annual Madrigal dinners

West Aurora High School’s 35th annual Madrigal dinner concerts Saturday and Sunday, (Dec. 17 and18, set an attendance record.

According to Brian Smith, Madrigal Singers director and West choirs director, more than 400 persons attended the weekend concerts.

Smith made the announcement during closing remarks at the Sunday afternoon dessert concert.

Smith thanked students, parents, alumni, administrators, and others who helped make the production possible.

At Saturday’s evening program, a three-course dinner was prepared by the Blackhawk Cafe, West culinary arts students.

Volunteers turned West’s cafeteria into a Medieval-style great hall for the performances.

Entertainment both days was provided by the 30-member Madrigal Singers, 25-member Singing Wenches, and five-member Royal Brass.
