The Will County Clerk’s Office is actively recruiting election judges for new precincts in Aurora, particularly Republican Party judges.
“The number of Republican and Democratic election judges at each polling place is determined by the average party turnout in the three most recent Illinois governor’s races. It’s imperative to have a balance of Republicans and Democrats at each polling place to assure the integrity of the election,” said Will County clerk Nancy Schultz Voots.
Residents of Aurora voted to dissolve the Aurora Election Commission March 20, 2018. The Will County Clerk’s Office incorporated seven of the precincts in Aurora into four new precincts. The new polling places on Election Day will be New Song Church, 2858 Hafenrichter Road, Aurora for precincts Wheatland 31, 32, and 33 and Crossroads Church, 3003 S. Eola Road, Aurora for precinct Wheatland 34.
Election judges can earn extra compensation if they are assigned to pick up and drop off election supplies. If interested, visit thewillcountyclerk.com and fill out an application.
