Poem: Words You Wish You’d Never Said

I guess I could do this—so what harm would it do?
I reckon since he did it, I can do it too.
But, hey, the street is pretty clear—c’mon, let’s race.
I tell you I can do this, done without a trace.
I know, I know, but what the heck, I’m going to try.
Okay, maybe you’re right, but you can’t tell me why.
How do you know it won’t? It seems to me okay.
I don’t care what you say. I’ll do it anyway.
Okay, I hear you, but what’s wrong with how I look?
What do you mean? They’ll never know how much I took.
Why can’t it wait until tomorrow? Why right now?
No, I don’t need your help. But thank you. I know how!
Did you see how she’s dressed? Now, isn’t that a kick.
The way she plays up to the teach—it makes me sick!
No, I don’t have to worry—how hard can it get?
You’ve heard this all your life—you ain’t seen nuthin’ yet.
