Yorkville Library Youth: International Dot Day, craft kits

The Yorkville Public Library Youth Service Department will have many upcoming events. All events will take place at the Library, 902 Game Farm Road, unless otherwise noted. For more information, or to register, call 630-553-4354 or visit www.yorkville.lib.il.us.

• Crafts To Go!, every Monday this month.

Stop at the Library for a craft kit. Kits are available each Monday in the Library foyer while supplies last. Weekly craft kits include: Library card pockets, card-making, and pirate craft. Limit one kit per child.

• Drop in Story Time (virtual), every Friday on YPL Facebook.

Each Friday morning watch Ms Jennette read a story on Yorkville Public Library Facebook.

• International Dot Day, Tuesday, Sept. 15. Youth can help us add to our art quilt wall through a design and coloring of a yellow square and return it by October 1 to the Library for a display. Anytime this month pick up a yellow square in the Library foyer on the Craft to Go cart, while supplies last.

• Book Club, first and second grades, Thursday, Sept. 17 and 24 at 4:30 p.m. at the Yorkville Public Library.

In the two-session book club, we will read the book, “Young Cam Jansen and the Spotted Cat Mystery” by David Adler. It is an easy reader chapter book. Please register for both days on the YPL website. Face masks and social distancing are required.

• Tag- Teen Advisory Group, Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 2:45 p.m..

Teens in grades eighth through 12th get together to share ideas about the teen area in the Library. They help create and plan programs. This group has opportunities to earn volunteer hours. Great chance to meet new persons and have some fun and laughs. Face masks and social distancing are required.

• Drop In Story Time, Friday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m..

Join us at YPL for Drop In Story Time with Ms Jennette. If weather permits, we will be outside in the Children’s Courtyard. Please walk around to the back of the library and enter through the courtyard gate.
