• Sunday, March 1,8,15, 22, and 29 at 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., Magic the Gathering, ages 13 and older.
Magic will be at the Library. Attendees can join this group Sunday afternoons to play this legendary strategy card game, Magic the Gathering. No registration is necessary.
• Tuesday, March 3 and 17 at 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Panera Story Time.
The Yorkville Panera will provide registered children with milk and cookies. All ages are welcome to attend, registration available online.
• Tuesday, March 3, 17, and 31, 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., T.A.G. (Teen Advisory Group)
Teens in grades eighth through 12th can get together to share ideas about the teen area in the library. They can help create and plan programs. This group has opportunities to earn volunteer hours. Great chance to meet new persons and have some fun and laughs.
• Wednesday, March 4, 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., BabyLapsit, ages birth to 23 months.
Parents can sing, clap, and bounce to nursery rhymes and songs with their babies. The last 10 minutes of the program will be play time. Registration available online.
• Friday, March 6, 13, 20, and 27, 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Drop In Story Time.

This group consists of adults and children of all ability levels. This program is presented by Brad Smith.

• Tuesday, March 10, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Cards for Hospitalized Kids
Teens can take some time to spread hope and joy to hospitalized children across America with handmade, uplifting cards. All materials will be provided.

Parents can bring their little ones to listen to stories, rhymes and a complete a craft. Registration available online.
• Wednesday, March 11 and 18, 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., Book Club, grades first and second.
In the two-session book club, we will focus on easy chapter books. Please join us for a very special book. A light snack is provided. Please register for both programs on the YPL website.
• Thursday, March 12, 1 p.m., Afternoon Read, ages three through five.
We will focus on one letter of the alphabet through stories, crafts, and activities. Please register online.
• Saturday, March 14, 10:15 a.m. to 11:15, LEGO Club, ages five and older.
We will make unique creations to display in the children’s department. LEGOs provided. Please register online.
• Monday, March 16, 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., LEGO Duplo, ages two and older with a parent.
This LEGO club is for the younger set with a parent. We provide the LEGOs. Children provide the creativity. Please register online.
• Thursday, March 19, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., or, Friday, March 20, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Literacy Centers, ages three through six.
Stop by to experience a parent guided opportunity for hands on literacy instruction. Literacy Centers are designed to give children ample opportunity to practice the very important skills of listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

The 4-H AG Innovators Experience is an annual interactive activity that challenges young persons to apply critical thinking and STEM skills to a real-world agriculture challenge. This year’s topic is Monarch Butterflies. The collaborative, hands on challenge will help youth: learn about life cycles, loss of habitat, how to increase habitat, and much more! We will show the movie, “Frozen 2”. Popcorn and water will be provided. Those who bring a drink, please be sure it has a lid. Please register online.
• Wednesday, March 25, 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., 4-H Healthy Soils Challenge, ages eight and over, Spring Break with 4-H.
Through hands-on activities children will learn about the importance of healthy soils. They will design, build, and test a no-till planter using hex bugs and other household supplies.
• Wednesday, March 25, 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Game Day.
Ms Jennette will play various board games and card games. Can you beat Ms Jennette at Spoons? Register for some fun!
• Thursday, March 26, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Homeschool Hangout.
Homeschool families, join us in this monthly program. This is great opportunity for networking and learning what the library has to offer. Please register online, space is limited.
• Friday, March 27 starting at 10 a.m., Escape Room: Raiders of the Lost Locker!
Solve the clues to open the locks to discover who owned a forgotten locker. There are five time, 45-minute, slots available starting at 10:00 am. Groups of four participants can contact the library for a time slot. Please call 630-553-4354 ext. 108.

Children can come to the library, select a book and read to a furry friend. All therapy dogs and handlers have been certified by an accredited organization. This program was designed originally because children feel less pressure to read to a dog than an adult. It was meant to be a way to help struggling readers or even just encourage reading. It is open to all levels of readers and non-readers. Space is limited.
