The Chapel on the Green’s annual meeting and election will be held at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 24 at the Chapel, 107 W. Center Street in Yorkville.

After a short business meeting, member Thomas Milschewski will present a program regarding his upcoming history book, “Yorkville Then and Now.”

Thomas first became interested in community history because he wanted to know more about the street he lives on. He lives with his family in a 168-year-old house at 401 Heustis Street in Yorkville’s older section of town.

His curiosity about his family’s street, however, grew into collecting old photos from neighbors and has now blossomed into a Facebook page called “Yorkville Then and Now.”

“I didn’t know what to do with them for like the first year or two,” he said. “I thought, okay, these are cool. I liked them, but I didn’t know what to do with them.” His decision was to put the photos into book form.
