Youth Department events filled in Yorkville

The Yorkville Public Library Youth Service Department will have many events in August. All events will take place at the Library, 902 Game Farm Road, unless otherwise noted. For more information, or to register, call 630-553-4354 or visit www.yorkville.lib.il.us.
• Wednesday, Aug. 1, 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Stories in the Park
The last Stories in the Park will be held at Beecher Park, 901 Game Farm Road. Weather permitting.
• Thursday, Aug. 2, 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Back to School: The Kissing Hand, ages four to six years old.
This book is perfect for younger children preparing for school. We will read and discuss the book, then make a craft. Please register for this program at the Youth Service Desk.
• Friday, Aug. 3, 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Drop In Story Time.
Several stories will be read and kids can meet new friends. There is no registration for this program.
• Monday, Aug. 6, 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Back to School: Locker Décor, ages 10 years and older.
Those who want a fabulous locker for the school year can make creative locker decorations. Sign up at the Youth Service Desk.
• Tuesday, Aug. 7, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Movie.
A free family movie will be shown with popcorn and water available, or, bring some snacks and drinks from home.
• Wednesday, Aug. 8 and Aug. 29, 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Lapsit, ages birth to 18 months.
Parents can sing, clap, and bounce to nursery rhymes and songs with their baby. The last 10 minutes of the program will be play time. Register at the Youth Service Desk.
• Thursday, Aug. 9, 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., Future Foxes-Getting Ready for Kindergarten: Books, Books, Books!
Yorkville School District will be host to a variety of engaging literacy- rich experiences for children getting ready for kindergarten. Space is limited. Please register at the Youth Service Desk.
