North Aurora Village Board meeting: Kane County Board candidate, marijuana dispensary

Corinne Pierog, candidate for Kane County Board chair addresses Board members Monday at the North Aurora Committee of the Whole meeting. She is a Democrat who lives in Batavia and announced her campaign in the Summer for the seat held by Chris Lauzen who was elected Kane County Board chairman in 2012.
Board members voted 5-1 with trustee Mark Carroll the dissenting vote to allow a special use permit to sell cannabis to Verilife Medical Marijuana Dispensary at 161 S. Lincolnway in North Aurora. Beginning January 1, 2020 adults age 21 and older will be able to purchase cannabis. The new law provides for the cultivation, manufacture, distribution, possession, and use of cannabis within certain limits. Jason Crane/The Voice
