The 16th Annual Race to End Homelessness is back! This three-hour karting enduro is your opportunity to gather your race team of 4-6 drivers in support of DuPagePads’ mission to end homelessness. This year’s race includes up to 15 teams racing for the most-completed laps and highest fundraising total Saturday, July 18 from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Autobahn Country Club’s outdoor speed karting track in Joliet.
Over the last 16 years, this highly anticipated kart racing fundraiser has provided more than $1.5 million to help end homelessness. The annual Drive for 155 has helped fund life-saving housing programs and provide support services for families experiencing homelessness in DuPage County. This year’s support will bring more food, shelter, and hope to over 300 men, women, and children at the Interim Housing Center, in Downers Grove and established in 2022.
Bob Carey, along with First Trust Portfolios employees, has participated in the Drive for 155 since its debut in 2010. “I am thrilled to be part of the 16th annual race to end homelessness! The Drive not only promises a fun day of racing, but also directly supports DuPagePads’ mission to end homelessness in DuPage County,” shared Carey. “Each lap we race and every dollar we raise helps provide support and housing solutions for those in need. We can’t wait to see the community come together for such a worthy cause!”
All drivers must be 16 years old, and while no experience is required to participate, please note that karts can reach speeds of up to 55 miles per hour. Teams will be split into pros and amateurs, and awards are given to the top three finishers in each class. Guests are welcome to view the event and cheer on their team.
