Montini Catholic High School senior quarterback Izzy Abrams is entering his final stage of his illustrious career.
The Miami-bound star is aiming to lead the Broncos to another state title. This time, the Broncos are the favorite to win the Class 4A State championship, especially after a 35-12 win over Geneseo in a first-round playoff game last Saturday.
With the win, the No. 8 seeded Broncos (8-2) travel to face No. 1 seed Morris (10-0) this weekend.
After leading the Broncos to the State title last season, Abrams is on track to keep his word.
“My goal always has been to win every game I can,” Abrams said. “I hate losing and will try and do everything I can to win. I’m blessed to be in this position. I definitely can’t say that I thought I would be in this position when I started my career. It’s cool to see when you put all your chips in one basket and reap the fruit of your labor.”
Abrams, a five-star recruit, is one of the best quarterbacks in the country. He has lived up to his lofty billing all season, helping the Broncos navigate a difficult schedule to be in the hunt for another double-digit winning season.
