A 13-year-old male student from Montgomery arrested for threats to harm school administrator

An arrest was made Friday, Oct. 12, at Thompson Junior High School, 440 Boulder Hill Pass, in Oswego (Ill.) Community School District 308, in connection with two new reported disorderly-conduct incidents that occurred both Thursday, Oct. 11 after school and Friday, Oct. 12 in the morning. Witnesses reported hearing a student making verbal threats to harm a school administrator.

Oswego Police, with the cooperation of Community School District 308, identified the alleged offender, a 13-year-old male student from Montgomery. The student was arrested and taken into custody for disorderly conduct at approximately 1:40 p.m.. The Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office approved two felony counts of disorderly conduct and the student was taken to the Kane County Juvenile Justice Center where he will be held awaiting a Juvenile Court date.

The Oswego Police Department continues to investigate a separate incident that occurred Thursday morning at the school for a report of a disorderly conduct involving E-mail that was received by school administration containing a threat to the school. Oswego Police determined there was no direct threat to students or staff.

Oswego Police are continuing to investigate the incident with the cooperation of Community School District 308 and increased police presence may be observed as the investigation continues.

Alternatively, anonymous reports can be made to Kendall Crime Stoppers at 630-553-5999, where tips leading to arrests may receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.
