The Aurora Downtown COVID-19 Response Fund will distribute 35 COVID-19 relief grants totaling $12,250.

Aurora Downtown, a nonprofit group of business and property owners, launched the fund earlier this month. The fund accepted grant applications from businesses located in SSA #One to help provide financial relief from the pandemic.

Aurora Downtown’s Business Attraction and Retention (BAR) committee provided funds for all grant applicants within SSA #One with $350 grants each.

The use of funds is flexible in nature and is intended to assist businesses with rent or other operating expenses.

“During these challenging times, we are excited that Aurora Downtown had the ability to award funding in a timely fashion to businesses in need. We were able to fund 35 applicants that represent a diverse cross section of businesses located in Downtown Aurora,” said Brian Failing, BAR committee chair and executive director of Aurora Regional Fire Museum.
