The Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry is holding its 15th Annual Holiday Food Drive through November 23 at three area grocery stores: Prisco’s Family Market, 1108 Prairie Street, Aurora; Cermak Fresh Market, 1250 N. Lake Street, Aurora; and La Chiquita, 1525 Douglas Road., Montgomery. Shoppers will be able to purchase prepackaged bags of food for $15 to celebrate the pantry’s 15th Holiday Food Drive. Additionally, the pantry will accept monetary donations from the community, getting much-needed food to struggling families in our community.

The Aurora Food Pantry is currently serving twice as many families and individuals as this time last year. The need for food assistance is tremendous. Inflation has taken a toll on many in the Fox Valley, and those families are turning to the Aurora Food Pantry for help. In order to continue to meet the increased need, the Pantry needs the entire community to come together for this important food drive, now more than ever.

To ensure families have access to nourishing food and less stress this holiday season, the community is asked to add a prepackaged bag of holiday food items to your regular grocery cart this November at one of the participating supermarkets to be donated to the pantry. In celebration of the 15th annual food drive, people are encouraged to buy a $15 bag of groceries at the partnering stores, or, make a gift of $15 on the pantry’s website to purchase a “virtual bag of groceries.” Please visit www.aurorafoodpantry.org/holiday-food-drive or send a check to Aurora Food Pantry, 1110 Jericho Rd. Aurora, IL 60506 with Holiday Food Drive on the memo line. Every $1 donated provides $8 worth of food.
