Alderman of Aurora’s 7th Ward, Scheketa Hart-Burns, fifth from left, was host to a fundraiser Thursday, March 7, at Belle Salle Events Center in Aurora. Many organizations were honored for raising thousands of dollars for additional safety gear for police and fire personnel.
Stories of bravery and appreciation were shared by current and retired first responders.
Commander Keith Cross of the Aurora Police Department introduced Adam Miller, one of the five Aurora police officers who was injured in the shooting at the Henry Pratt Company warehouse Friday, Feb. 15.
