The Aurora Navy League Council 247 will hold its annual picnic Tuesday, Aug. 21. The meeting will be held at the home of Sharon and Kent Catich, 2900 Tanner Road, North Aurora, to start at 5 p.m. and will finish at around 8 p.m.. The public is invited and you do not need to be a member of the Navy League to attend.
The picnic will be catered by an upscale caterer who will serve an array of delicious food, not just picnic food. Beer, wine, water, and pop are included in the package. The cost is $20., all-inclusive.
There is no speaker at this annual picnic. It is a time to mix and socialize with fellow Council members and guests, and an opportunity to get to know one another better. If it is too hot outside, the picnic will be held inside with air conditioning. There is plenty of room.
The Aurora Council Navy League is holding a new-member drive. Half of the first year’s dues for new members will be paid. It is an excellent opportunity to attend an interesting event, and determine whether you would like to join permanently. Come and bring a guest to the picnic.
