Aurora Public Art debuts Unfinished Independence exhibit

City of Aurora’s Public Art Division opened a new exhibit Friday, June 5 entitled “Unfinished Independence,” a new dynamic, multi-artist exhibition that explores freedom, community identity, and the American promise. The exhibit is on display at 20 W. Downer Place, third floor, in the public art gallery. The gallery’s hours are Wednesday through Friday, noon to 4 p,m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.. The exhibit will be on display through July 24.

The exhibit brings together a diverse roster of established contemporary fine artists, emerging regional voices, educational cohorts, and unique community collectives to interrogate, celebrate, and reflect upon the complex, ongoing journey toward true systemic and personal independence.
