Judge Michael Noland, 16th Judicial Circuit Court, Kane County, swears in Barbara Hernandez recently as the State representative in the 83rd District, mainly Aurora. She fills the vacancy created by the selection of Linda Chapa LaVia as director of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs by governor JB Pritzker, pending State Senate confirmation. Chapa LaVia had been in office since her election in 2002.
