Members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley celebrated the Fourth of July and participated in Aurora’s Independence Day parade in the morning, Tuesday July 4, and then participated in the Aurora Historical Society’s annual “Ringing of the Bells” ceremony in Aurora at the Tanner House Museum, immediately following the parade.

The parade stepped off at 10 a.m., on the corner of Benton and Broadway, consisting of sixty units and was viewed by thousands in downtown Aurora.

Immediately following the parade, several hundred adults and children attended the festivities at the Tanner House Museum, complete with a petting zoo, entertainment, food and tours of the historic Tanner House. Precisely at one o’clock, approximately 40 young children rang the bells followed by patriotic music performed by the Aurora American Legion Band.

The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley thanks the City of Aurora government and the Aurora Historical Society, for allowing our Club to participate in the parade and the “Ringing of the Bells” ceremony at the Tanner House Museum. A shout out of thanks to Carter Crane and The Voice for continuing to expose our newly-formed club to their readers.
