The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley participated in Aurora’s Fifth Ward National Night Out (NNO), Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Salvation Army facility, 550 Redwood Drive, in Aurora. Members handed out information on prediabetes, diabetes, healthy eating, and our new diabetic recipes booklet. Children enjoyed picking through the treasure chest of small toys, along with receiving a Diabetes Club Frisbee.
The event was well attended, participants, especially the children, enjoyed meeting the police and firefighters, especially all the emergency response vehicles, and their sirens.
A shout out of thanks to Aurora alderman, Carl Franco, for allowing the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley to participate in the Fifth Ward National Night Out, for the past four years!
The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley will host their first “Craft & Vendor Fair”, Saturday, Sept. 12, at Rosary College Prep’s Gymnasium, formerly Rosary High School, 901 N. Edgelawn Drive, in Aurora, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Free admission!

Members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley work together, to provide diabetes awareness in the Fox Valley area, while raising funds to provide aid and education for diabetics, along with investing in research to find a cure. Uncontrolled blood sugar (glucose) can cause vision, heart and dental problems, plus nerve and kidney damage. Eat healthy, stay active and have a yearly blood test, to stay diabetes free!
Why not consider joining our fight against diabetes? You don’t need to be a diabetic, to be a member of our club! Yearly individual membership dues are $50 per year. Student dues are $25.
