Mark Brent, right, son of the late Bob Brent, accepts his father’s East Aurora High School Distinguished Alumni Award from Blanca Souders, East Aurora Alumni Association, Friday, at the honor at East Aurora. Bob Brent was the police chief in Aurora for 12 years, starting in 1979. He joined the Aurora Police Department in 1961. He was graduated from East Aurora in 1957. He established the Aurora police cadet program and instituted 911 service and call center in Aurora. He served on numerous social and civic organizations in retirement.
