• Yorkville Public Library Summer reading program: FIZZ, BOOM, READ will start June 1 and end July 31. Please stop at the Youth Service Desk and show a Yorkville library card to receive this Summer’s reading log. Return the reading log before July 31 to receive a prize and chance in a raffle drawing.
• Friday, June 1, 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Drop In Story Time.
Drop in to hear several stories and have a chance to meet new friends.
• Saturday, June 2, Summer Kick Off Events
° 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sci-Tech Activity Table.
Visitors can explore the relationship between electricity and magnets through hands on activities.
° 10:15 a.m. to 11 a.m., LEGO Club, ages seven and older.
Unique creations will be made for display in the Children’s Department. Please register at the Youth Service department desk.
° 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Ice Cream Book Club, for ages nine to 16.
Children will need to read a chapter book to share with the group. Please register at the Youth Service desk. All program fees have been waived for the Summer.
° 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Fizz, Boom, Read Summer Kick-Off Party with Sci-Tech.
There will be science fun and amazing experiments with Sci-Tech. Space is limited, only 30 spots are available. Registration is required.
• Tuesday, June 5 and Friday, June 15, 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 p.m., Tots and Toddlers.
Parents can bring their little ones to listen to stories, rhymes, and complete a craft. Please register at the Youth Service desk.
• Tuesday, June 5 and June 19, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., movie.
Popcorn and water are available or bring snacks and drink with a lid.
• Thursday, June 7 and June 21, 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., Future Foxes, Getting Ready for Kindergarten.
Yorkville School District will be host to a variety of engaging literacy- rich experiences for children getting ready for kindergarten. Please register at the Youth Service desk.
