The World Health Organization declared COVID-19 (coronavirus) as a pandemic March 10 and more cases of COVID-19 are expected in the United States. All residents should take measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

It’s important to follow simple daily steps to stop the spread of illness:

• Avoid close contact with those who are sick.

• Do not touch your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

If you are sick, to keep from spreading respiratory illness to others:

• Stay home.

• Avoid unnecessary social gatherings, follow national guidelines for social distancing.

• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.

• Frequently clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces.
