The “Coats for Kids” Program first began years ago under the guidance of Aurora aldermen Scheketa Hart-Burns and Juany Garza. In 2010 Kiwanis president Archie Needam worked to expand the program to be a citywide community event. Since that time, “Coats for Kids – Aurora” has evolved into a program supported by Communities in Schools, the Kiwanis Club of Aurora, and the Aurora community.
