Naperville Park District is a partner with the DuPage County Stormwater Management Department to complete three projects that will improve the area’s capacity to manage stormwater, improve water quality in the DuPage River and enhance the shoreline environment. The three projects are: pond shoreline restoration at Brighton Ridge Park, 775 Torrington Drive, creek shoreline restoration at Stanford Meadows, 1991 Stanford Drive and river shoreline restoration along the West Branch of the DuPage River at the Riverwalk (west end), 912 Honorary Sindt Court.

Each of the three projects will begin with removal of invasive and declining plants and trees as needed. The trees and shrubs that have grown and spread along the shorelines do not hold the shoreline in place, rather, they allow for the erosion of soil into the pond or stream. The projects will apply several shoreline stabilization methods, including planting of native vegetation with deep roots, to prevent future erosion. The projects at Brighton Ridge Park and Stanford Meadows are planned to be completed in 2024. The West Branch of the DuPage River project will begin following permitting. Additional details and project maps can be found on the park pages for each project, which are Brighton Ridge Park, Stanford Meadows and the Riverwalk.
