North Aurora Village Board Meeting: Engineering in flux

Director of Community Development for the Village of North Aurora, Mike Toth, left, answers questions about an engineering and review services agreement with WBK Engineering at the North Aurora Village Board meeting Monday. Rempe-Sharpe Engineering has handled all aspects of development engineering for the Village the past two decades, however, has not been granted continued contractual authority by the Village Board. Members of the Village staff would like WBK to commence work with the Village while working through the specifics of the agreement. There is no term associated with contract so the relationship would be on an as-needed basis with the ability of the Village administrator to terminate services, if necessary. The agreement would be non-exclusive with the Village reserving the right to solicit the services of other providers, or another civil engineering firm for development review and inspection. Rempe-Sharpe would remain the primary engineering group on existing projects. Jason Crane/The Voice
