Old Kurt Busch captures first NASCAR victory since 2020

Nascar Cup Series, Quaker State 400, Atlanta Motor Speedway, Hampton, Ga., Sunday, July 11.

The race was run on a very old surface and was won by an old driver, Kurt Busch, 42 years of age. Kurt Busch won over his younger brother, Kyle Busch, by less than half of a second. Following in third place was Martin Truex. Jr., Alex Bowman was in fourth, and Ryan Blaney in fifth.

Kyle Busch won the pole, with fanfavorite Chase Elliott on the outside.

Stage one was won by Kyle Busch, ahead of Kurt Busch.

Stage two was won by Kurt Busch, ahead of Kyle Busch.

It was Kurt’s 33rd victory in NASCAR and it was his first victory since Las Vegas in 2020. Kurt claimed what helped him get the victory was a special push from teammate, Ross Chastain, to get into the lead.

Nascar Cup Series, Jockey Made in America 250, Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wis., Sunday, July 4.

Many lead changes and off-course miscues helped Chase Elliott to win his seventh road course race. Following Elliott were Christopher Bell in second, Kyle Busch in third, Kurt Busch in fourth, and Denny Hamlin in fifth.

The pole positions were won by William Byron and Kyle Larson. Elliott and Kyle Busch started in the back of the field.

Stage 1 was won by William Byron.

Stage 2 was won by Tyler Reddick over William Byron.

Austin Cendric had to retire his car with a broken axle.

With 10 laps to go in the last stage, Elliott was in the lead and won five seconds ahead of Bell.

Nascar Cup Series, Pocono Organics CBD 325, Pocono Raceway, Long Pond, Pa., Saturday, June 26.

The race was won by Bowman followed by Kyle Busch in second place, Byron in third, Hamlin in fourth, Blaney in fifth.

Nascar Cup Series, Explore the Pocono Mountains 350, Pocono Raceway, Long Pond, Pa, Sunday, June 27.

Kyle Busch won the race despite transmission problems in which his vehicle would get stuck in fourth gear. Following in second place were Kyle Larson, Brad Keselowski in third, Kevin Harvick in fourth, and Kurt Busch in fifth.

The stage 1 winner was Larsen over Austin Dillon.

Stage 2 was won by William Byron.

Nascar Cup Series, Ally 400, Nashville Superspeedway, Nashville Tenn., Sunday, June 20.

Kyle Larson won the inaugural race and led 264 of the 300 laps. Following in second place was Ross Chastain, Byron was in third, Aric Almirilo was in fourth, and Harvick finished fifth.
