• Caregiver Education Series: How to effectively communicate your wishes to your children or caregivers, Tuesday, Aug. 21, 11 a.m., in multipurpose room.
A big worry many seniors have is that their wishes will not be met by their children or caregiver. Adding to this concern is the awkwardness of having a conversation about disability, incapacity, and death. Attendees can learn how to approach tender topics and the tools to use to develop a plan. • Medicare Discussions: Medicare Advantage Plans, Wednesday, Aug. 22, 11 a.m., OSC Game Room.
Medicare Advantage plans have both advantages as the name suggests and drawbacks. At the meeting everyone can learn the questions to ask to determine if Medicare Advantage is a good option.

Mike Adolph, a retired history teacher, moderates lively discussion as participants explore history by presenting biographies they’ve chosen from a list of more than 200 Americans, such as Teddy Roosevelt to Gary Kildall and Calamity Jane to Jim Thorpe, and Phyllis Wheatley, or members can select their own choice. Join in anytime in this ongoing class.
