The Jeff Awards celebrated its 50th anniversary Monday, Oct. 22 at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace.
Aurora’s Paramount Theatre won two Jeff Awards after receiving 10 nominations in seven categories. The awards included:
• Projection Design, Joseph A. Burke, Elf The Musical;
• Performer in a Supporting Role, Musical, Gavin Rohrer, Million Dollar Quartet (2017), for his performance of Jerry Lee Lewis.
American Blues Theater in Chicago won the most awards with five.
The Paramount Theatre won eight awards last year, the most of any theatre in the Chicago area, for its 2016-2017 productions of Sweeney Todd-The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
