Patrons of the Yorkville Public Library responded enthusiastically to the Winter reading challenge, Read to Feed, by surpassing the original goal of reading 50,000 minutes in a two-month period by reading 87,496 minutes instead. It was a huge success for our Library and our community. Friends of the Library will donate $100 to the Food Pantry, another $200 was donated by two anonymous donors, and still another $100 was donated through collection jars in the Library at the circulation desk.
Friends of the Library as well as the Library staff members, thank patrons who participated in this Winter reading challenge. With this $400 donation, our Food Pantry will have $3,200 buying power through the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
