Dear editor;
The headline in the April 5 issue of The Voice: “Representative Kifowit seeks to augment sexual education” which translated means enlarge the how to sin carefully curricula for the over-flowing pool of unqualified college graduates who need a job. Lacking the qualifications to teach math, science, history, languages, grammar, music, and art, to that portion of the student body that needs easy to pass programs for graduation. It’s a win-win for both sides. What a match.
Dr. Eugene Diamond, pediatrician, in a speech on life and family, told his audience he could teach a sex ed. program in five minutes. That is what schools should be seeking, cost-effective instructors. What Kane County needs more of is legislation that will lower our real estate taxes; improve all bridges, roads and sewers; lower the welfare pool by bringing to our community jobs that will benefit both them and the State.
If Bill 5148 passes, let’s open it to the public. I want to take the course. My high school was remiss in seeing to our immediate needs. Needs that our tax dollars now provide. Police officers, social workers, and counselors, baby-sitting provisions for expectant mothers; and transgenered washrooms and showers so to “violate the consent of others”. Her words, not mine.
Kifowit further states our efforts should be “teaching young people how to behave like respectful adults”. That was my parents’ job! However, if that is her goal, her bill should mandate that all parents be required to take the course. Kifowit’s silently is acknowledging that it is the parents who need retraining, not the students. If successful, it would solve numerous problems. Hopefully, reduce our divorce rate and that misnamed category, single parent.
