Ingredients
2 pounds ground beef
1/4 pound of bacon (about 5 slices)
1/2 onion, grated
1 egg
1 tablespoon grill seasoning (equal parts ground black pepper, kosher salt, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder)
1 1/2 teaspoons liquid smoke flavoring
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons minced garlic
1 1/4 tablespoons adobo sauce and chipotle chile puree
salt and pepper to taste
8 slices smoked Gouda
8 hamburger buns
Directions
1. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat.
2. In a skillet cook the bacon until crispy.
3. Combine beef, crumbled bacon, onion, egg, grill seasoning, liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and adobo sauce and chipotle pepper puree in a large bowl. Mix and form into 8 patties. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Place burgers on preheated grill and cook until no longer pink in the center. Place a slice of Gouda cheese on top of each burger one minute before they are ready. Place burgers on buns to serve.
