Poem: The Advancing West Coast Tragedy

I’d like to have you think about what inundated news
So massively it rivaled even what we got in war.
The global warming hyper-thrust to get us all enthused.
For quite a while it rivaled anything we’d seen before.

The sea off the west coast, its health and nutrients soon bare.
Is undergoing changes far more tragic than above.
The nutrients so prevalent in surface waters there
Are being wind-blown on the shore, endangering what we love.

That causes colder water to come up, the nutrients gone.
It lacks the needed nutrients to keep sea life alive.
We can’t control the wind, but somehow we must carry on.
We must do something, by whatever means we can contrive.
