Poem: The Emerging Power Of Women

To each and every woman who will read this piece,
Be cognizant how women’s power has found release.
The list is ever growing, in transcendent roles,
Quite varied in ascension, numerous in goals.
Most of you will but shrug, this not affecting you,
But yes it does—innately—things you women do.
The point I wish to make—the where, and when, and how,
Is brought home by exactly that—today, the here and now!
Our Western World, the world you live in, is the key—
It’s here that women have advanced, for all to see.
All cultures which subdue their women, just a pawn;
“Barefoot and pregnant,” as the saying goes, a timeless con.
It’s time you recognize this fact, as cultures clash;
There are all kinds of slavery—not just whip and lash.
So freedom goes beyond horizons you may gauge—
The Western world and women’s power set the stage!
