Joe McMahon, Kane County State’s attorney, shares his concerns about the opium epidemic with Rotary Club of Aurora members, Monday at Two Brothers Roundhouse. McMahon, Kane County State’s attorney since 2010, said too many individuals with mental health needs aren’t getting the help they require. They resort to drugs and alcohol to self-medicate. He said we need resources to fight the opium epidemic. He spoke about the effectiveness of sex trafficking stings over the last two years and imprisoning each individual caught coming to Aurora to meet with someone underage.
