State champion:
Waubonsie Valley High School/Metea Valley High School ice hockey team of Aurora receives a salute from the Aurora City Council Tuesday evening at Aurora City Hall for recently capturing the Illinois State high school hockey championship in the Combined Varsity tournament.
Both schools are in District 204. There are five levels. Wheaton West Black captured the Junior Varsity Combined championship.
