This school year the bands at West Aurora High School are celebrating their centennial. It is an amazing milestone that very few programs in the Nation can claim. We are seeking help in promoting some of the activities we have planned for the Centennial Celebration.
In an effort to create a collage in the band’s hallway, we are collecting photographs of our band alumni in uniform and/or concert attire. Please send photos to WAB100PICS@aol.com and include your name, graduation year, and details on those in the photo(s).
Our Centennial Celebration concert will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 7 in the West Aurora High School Auditorium. Admission is free for this special performance that will feature the combined forces of the Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony, as well as five guest conductors. Each of those conductors are bands’ alumni who went on to become high school band directors. Each has selected a piece that was special during each’s time at West High.
