Reader’s Voice: Heroes Committee to help State veterans

November 16, 2018 Dear editor; I am proud to join governor-elect J.B. Pritzker’s bipartisan “Serving Illinois’ Heroes” Committee, which will advise the incoming administration on issues of importance to our veterans. The previous administration’s shortcomings on serving veterans led to 14 deaths and countless illnesses at the Quincy Veterans’ home.

Democratic Party candidate Lauren Underwood, a first-time candidate, won in the 14th District congressional race over 10-year incumbent and 20-year political representative, Randy Hultgren, Tuesday, Nov. 6.
