Aurora City Council presents certificates to Black Student Organizations

Victorian Valentine project at Little White School Museum in Oswego

Sophia Luo, originally from China, sings the song “The Moon Represents My Heart” by Teresa Teng for members of the Kiwanis Club of Aurora, Tuesday at the Prisco Center in Aurora. Luo shared history of Chinese New Year celebrations on the first day of The Year of the Pig, February 5. She said the Chinese New Year is one of the most important holidays for Chinese families and celebrates the beginning of the new year according to the lunar calendar. Historical mayor autographs his bobblehead: Mayor of Aurora, Richard Irvin, poses with Andrew Hamilton from Aurora with an autographed bobblehead Friday. The Aurora Historical Society gift shop at the Pierce Art and History Center, was open as a participant of Downtown Aurora’s First Friday, Feb. 1. Irvin made history in 2017 when he was elected as the City’s first African American mayor. The bobblehead sells for $30 plus tax in time for African American History Month.
