Fire Chief Krienetz recommended McCabe to the mayor to be appointed as assistant fire chief for Aurora. Chief Krienetz said McCabe started with him more than 20 years ago and has an impressive resume. Chief Krienetz said McCabe is the absolute best fit for the job. Final approval will be decided at the City Council meeting Tuesday. • Mayor of Aurora Richard Irvin expressed appreciation to Stephane Phifer, planning director for the city of Aurora for more than 20 years of service. She was recently hired by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning.
