Succinctly: Election day is April 2. It is important, just not a solution to all the ills in politics. Go vote:

• Cannabis legislation was the focus Saturday morning for the panel at Waubonsee Community College Downtown Campus in Aurora. Bills in both the State Senate (316) and the State House (2353) would make cannabis legal to take it off the illegal market. Joe McMahon, Kane County State’s attorney, was a against the bill: Increased problems. See photo by clicking here. State representative Stephanie Kifowit and State senators Linda Holmes and Heather Steans (Northeast Side, Chicago, mainly) were participants. See a video segment at facebook.com/thevoice.us.

• Sugar Grove trustees were the focus Thursday, March 21 in the League of Women Voters’ seventh forum this season.  The other candidates: Heidi Lendi, Alex Kline-Wedeen, and Mari Johnson. See the video at facebook.com/thevoice.us.

Sugar Grove Township trustee candidates, Ryan Walter, Jennifer Konen, and David Paluch, three of six, participate in the League of Women Voters (LWV) forum Thursday, March 21 at Sugar Grove Community Center. A video of the event can be seen at facebook.com/thevoice.us. Carter Crane/The Voice
